Letter to the Editor 'Pulis Provincia'cannot recognize a tanod, even in complete uniform
October 30, 2006 | 12:00am
I am so amused with your October 26, 2006, Thursday edition of The Ear. The first paragraph was so interesting but the second, I considered false.
The incident occurred last October 25, in General Echavez, when my tanod was frisked by a policeman. It is not true that my tanods were not "way ligo". The fact is that the said tanod had just taken a bath and was in complete uniform with badge, riding an official bike complete with official marks.
The real truth is that the Cebu City police is mobilizing "Pulis Provincia" who lacked orientation on how to operate in the city. The fact is, he cannot even recognize a tanod, even in complete uniform.
The tanods of Zapatera are multi-awarded, disciplined and closely supervised by barangay officials. Records will show that our Barangay is carrera-free for over 10 years, no known drug pushers, and had arrested so many criminals. Besides, we have briefing every night before they go to the field.
These "pulis provincia" should be re-oriented before serving our modern metropolis, otherwise, I am afraid that during the summit meeting, they might not even spare President Bush in frisking.
