FRISKED TANODS. The Ear heard that the police conducted random checks on individuals in downtown Cebu City Tuesday night. Even the barangay tanods weren't spared. The barangay captain cried foul as he said that the place where the police conducted their inspection is within their jurisdiction. He said that it was embarrassing because the tanods were in complete uniform but still they were made to stand in line and subjected to a body search.
POLICE STAND. When a high ranking police officer was asked by The Ear informer why the tanods were included in the body search, he said that anybody can be inspected including policemen. "Anybody can buy T-shirts with police or tanod prints," he said. But he added off the record, "Hugaw man gud kaayo sila'g nawong. Morag mga walay ligo."
