ANOTHER USELESS PRACTICE. After reading about Wednesday's article on the useless practice of security guards' casual inspection of bags at mall entrances, another mediaman told The Ear of another useless practice: Marking receipts at mall exits. He said that it's an insult for customers to have their receipts marked, a security measure to make sure that the items bought were the reflected on the receipt, to rule out shoplifters. "Makalagot nang marka-markahan pa gyud ang atong resibo inig dayong gawas nga dili man sila mo-inspect sa resibo. Makadugay ug makahasol sa mga customers."
MARKED RECEIPTS. He told The Ear that the other day he bought items at a grocery store. He said the guard saw him pay for the items but still he was stopped at the exit to have his receipt marked. Exasperated, he removed the receipt attached to his bag, gave it to the guard and said, "O, imo na na. Ganahan man kaayo ka ana."
