Letter to the Editor — Reaction

In the interest of fairness, allow me to react to an open letter written by Erlando Majan of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).

He stated that the transfer of Tesda from its present location means "letting go of an improved land with buildings, equipment and machinery that churn millions of well-trained and skilled workers." Majan also stressed that to eject Tesda from its present site means to push the inhabitants there to nowhere.

Let it be known here and now that Governor Gwen Garcia's decision to use the present Tesda lot (which is owned by the Provincial Government) is already final. However, this move should not worry Tesda because the Capitol would take care of relocating the office to another lot owned by the Province, most probably still in Lahug.

No, Mr. Majan, the governor's decision to transfer your office has definitely nothing to do with the planned expansion project of the nearby Waterfront Hotel. Of course, you are aware that since the Capitol did not donate the lot to Tesda, your office cannot continue to use it.

And you must be aware also that even your Tesda secretary has already agreed to the impending transfer of your office to another location.
