This Pinay is chief of police in America

One official of Malacañang has been quoted as saying, that "President Arroyo has brought home the bacon from Saudi Arabia." Is there bacon in Muslim Saudi? Hehehe!
Another Palace official says the Opposition is a bunch of pessimists. Say, what is a pessimist? According to Bob Philips, a pessimist is a man with a difficulty for every solution.
The papers say that poverty is getting worse in this country. Why? Because, like what I said before, Pinoys are busy making a living they got no time to get rich.
It has just been announced on tv that a fire hit the shoe trade show venue in Southampton, England. That trade show won't close down. The shoe must go on.
It says here that a terror suspect was jailed after confessing to the police. He should've confessed to the priest.
Seriously now, I was reading a back-issue of Filipinas, the slick Filipino magazine published in San Francisco, California, when I ran into an article about Kathleen Samuels, the Pinay chief of police of San Ramon, California. She is the first Asian-American to be named police chief of San Ramon.
Despite her American-sounding name, Kathleen is pure Pinay. Her father is Visayan (the article didn't say where in the Visayas he comes from) while her mother is Ilocano. Kathleen is well-liked by the men and women in the San Ramon police force. Sue Wallace, administrative analyst with the San Ramon PD, says of Kathleen: "She is a person of integrity, is fair and consistent. She is a strong woman and a good role model for both genders."
Police Chief Kathleen Samuels is one more proof belying some statement that Pinays are good only for being housemaids and caregivers. They also stand out in much more dignified fields of human endeavor - yes, such as being chief of police.
