FULL OF POTHOLES. The Ear heard that drivers dread passing through Echavez Street. Not only because of heavy traffic during rush hours but also because of several huge potholes found along that stretch of road. One businessman who resides along that street said he has to spend a lot of money in car repair due to the damage these potholes cause his vehicle. "Ngano dili man ni matapakan sa City Hall? Tungod ba kay dili election season?," He said in disgust.
HUMOR IN TRAGEDY. One jeepney driver who has to ply this route daily said he feels helpless about the situation and prefers to use humor to cushion the impact these potholes do to his passengers. When his passengers were jolted from their seats when the jeepney hit the potholes, the driver was heard joking to his passengers, "Unsa man sad ning libaong diri sa Echavez, dili man mopadaplin kung businahan." The passengers can only shake their heads in amusement.
