Reaction to Brillantes' letter on RP civil war

- Letter To The Editor -
Mr. Rosendo T. Brillantes' October 16, 2005 letter in the Opinion (Section) of your newspaper borders on a child play and a nightmare.

GMA's opponents are supported by anti-American political personalities and all their sympathizers, most of whom are leftists, excluding those Aquino's tenants whom GMA has issued all their corresponding lot titles. GMA's very strong and a real supporter who is an American by influence, experience, and training was our former president, whom GMA's oppositions have a high respect and regards. Thus, your imagined civil war without enough and sustaining logistics is nothing but a sham without full civilian supports which are fading out as shown in daily street rallyists' demonstrations as their few financiers' funds are thinning away.

And, if ever, your civil war will take place, GMA's command post will be certainly in Cebu City where she will escape by helicopter gunships or by naval gunships from Malacañang being captured by then! Her foreign allies will take her side to defeat those recycled and drunken politicians.

As a quick review to this drama that may similarly repeat itself was the Muslim rebellion in the 1970s in their own capital in the south which they captured when the Philippine Navy's bombardments from the evening to the following day by a crafty plan right after the feigned withdrawal of the AFP forces. The massacre of the rebels was horrible that none seemed alive when the smoke of war cleared out. The capital was devastated and Philippine Government won the gambit.

Her opponents occupying Malacañang do not have the capability to respond to the effective naval bombardments by then that will likely level down the palace to the ground. Mr. Lito Osmeña's former Capitol Security Officer who was a retired general, if he is still in the Philippines, is very skillful on artillery tactics and gunnery for selected targets.

GMA's think-tank may have this operational plan available, if there is only 5 to 10 percent of AFP backing her opponents. Having only this very limited strength within their means, it appears GMA has the favorable manpower and firepower, etc. to discourage any attempt of coup d'état.
