* STREET SMART. A man with some sunglasses in his hand was peddling the products along Mango Avenue with motorists stopping on the red signal light as prospective buyers. This man approached a taxi driver and offered his glasses. "Glasses, Bossing, imported, barato ra."

"Pila man na," asked the taxi driver.

"Gatos ra, Bossing," the peddler said.

"Ayg binuang diha ha, duklon tika ron. Peke kana imo kong buangon," the driver said.

"Baynte pesos."

Sold. The driver later discovered the glasses had one lens cracked.

The driver, shaking his head, said: "Bida kaabtik na gyud nako naabtikan pa sa karaho!"

* JEEPNEY FARE. A PUJ plying the Labangon route had a piece of cardboard stuck at the back of the driver's seat. Written on it was: "P6.0 plite."

Some passengers paid P6 but there were some who questioned the rate. And to those who questioned the conductor simply said: "Puwede sad P5."

"Sa ato pa ang sa mailad lang, sa no?" someone said.

The conductor just kept mum.
