Tim Yap's fire and ice birthday bash
Eventologist and dear friend Tim Yap hosted his birthday celebration at the Admiral Hotel Manila’s M Gallery.
Cocktails started at El Atrio, the beautiful lobby of Admiral Hotel. Guests dressed following Tim’s vision for the night — “Fire and Ice” — with DJ Eva Smalls kicking things off.
Guests were then ushered to the Admiral Club on the hotel’s top floor for a dinner by executive chef Paul Lenz and executive sous chef Loic Brun. Entertainment was provided by Los Angeles-based singer Ryan Gallagher and Zephanie. Dancers from the A Team danced onstage prior to a spectacular fireworks display designed by director and Yap’s husband, Javi Martinez, at the Coconut Grove as everyone raised a glass to the birthday boy.
It wouldn’t be a Tim Yap birthday without an after-party! Guests were escorted back downstairs and brought through a secret door hidden behind a bookcase to enter the intriguing world of Ruby Wong’s, the hotel’s Chinese-themed speakeasy. Guests were transported to another time and place that looked like the old streets of Hong Kong, complete with a noodle bar and alley full of lamps. DJs Joey Osmeña, Bombi Balquiedra, and Jason Soong took over Ruby Wong’s decks.
The main goal that evening was to raise funds for kids with cleft palates. In lieu of gifts, Tim requested that donations be made for the Smile Train Philippines Foundation, Inc. This has been Tim’s charity since he ran the Berlin and New York marathons. This year, Tim, together with Javi and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, formed the Yaparazzi Smiles Team and are raising funds for kids while running the London Marathon this coming April.
