WATCH: Osmeña compels Philrem to name accountant
MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Sergio Osmeña III on Tuesday compelled Philrem Service Corp. (Philrem) President Salud Bautista to name her accountant.
In the previous Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the $81 million banking heist, the Senate asked Bautista to bring her accountant to explain the tax of the remittance company as well as other transactions. Bautista claimed that she is not aware of the name of her chief accountant, but said that she will check the accountant’s identity with her office.
On Tuesday, however, she said her accountant resigned already.
Osmeña then said the Senate will cite Bautista for contempt if she failed to name her accountant in the next hearing.
“At the next hearing if you still do not have the name, bring your overnight bag already,” the senator warned.
