#DaangMatuwad: Netizens react to twerking girls in LP event
MANILA, Philippines - #DaangMatuwad, #LiberalPanty, #BayangMagiling - infuriated netizens came up with clever, stinging hashtags, as a reaction to the twerking incident allegedly involving MMDA Chair Francis Tolentino.
According to the emcee, Tolentino brought in girls in scantily clad outfits to dance in a Liberal Party (LP) event as a "surprise gift," since the event, which took place at the house of Laguna Rep. Benjie Agarao in Sta. Cruz , coincided with the lawmaker's birthday celebration.
As part of the show, the girls, who call themselves "Playgirls" gave a sexy performance, to the tune of the popular song "Twerk it Like Miley."
A video of the performance showing an official lying down on the stage while the girls in their outfits humped them surfaced on the Internet and quickly prompted social media outrage from the netizens.
The incident did not receive an applause from the public at all.

The LP event , led by LP standard bearer Mar Roxas II was a mass oath-taking of 80 local officials from the fourth district of Laguna.
Meanwhile, Tolentino denied being the one who brought the sexy dancers as a “birthday treat” to the lawmaker.
