MANILA, Philippines - Elder Mason Wells managed to dodge death for the third time after surviving the Brussels attack on March 22.

In an interview with ABC News, Mason’s father, Chad Wells, revealed that this is not his son's first encounter with death.

“This is his third terrorist attack," Chad Wells told ABC News.

"This is the third time that sadly in our society that we have a connection to a bomb blast," he added. "We live in a dangerous world and not everyone is kind and loving."

Mason was also present at the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 where he traveled with his mother, and was nearby when the explosion occurred. He was also in France during the Paris attacks last year.

Mason caught himself in the middle of the major attack as he was dropping off a fellow missionary at the airport. Mason's father told ABC News that his son was basically at "ground zero" of the blast.

At present, the American Mormon missionary who suffered severed Achilles tendon, injuries from shrapnel, with second and third-degree burns on his face and hands after the bombing is recovering in a hospital in Belgium.

Meanwhile, Islamic extremists claim responsibility of back-to-back bombings of the Brussels airport and subway that killed at least 34 people and wounding many others.
