MANILA, Philippines — Leaders from around the world gathered together in Manila for this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Summit.

Chile President Michelle Bachelet was the first one to arrive Sunday afternoon on a B-767 military aircraft. Bachelet was followed by the arrival of former Taiwanese Vice President Vincent Siew on Monday afternoon. Siew is attending on behalf of Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou.
Also attending the APEC summit are Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister Peter Charles Paire O’Neill, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Leung Chun-Ying, Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang, United States President Barack Obama, South Korean President Park Geun-Hye, Australia Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, Canada’s newly elected Prime Minister Justin Pierre James Trudeau, Brunei Darussalam’s Sultan, Hassanal Bolkiah, Thailand Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Peruvian President Ollanta Moises Humala Tasso, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. — Alixandra Caole Vila
