Palace serves kesong puti, lapu-lapu to honor Chile president

MANILA, Philippines - Chilean President Michelle Bachelet was treated to a state luncheon comprising of a menu full of delectable Filipino dishes on Monday.

According to the photo posted on Facebook by the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines, the menu includes classic Filipino dishes amplified with a modern twist such as kesong puti and local fruits served with parma ham wrapped in melon, seafood ala Bicol Express vol au vent and cashew-crusted lapu-lapu fillet, escabeche sauce.

Bachelet arrived in the Philippines on Sunday. She is the first leader to arrive in Manila for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

Before the state luncheon, the two heads of state held a bilateral meeting, witnessed the signing of agreements between our two countries and held a joint press conference.
