#APECtado: Traffic sends Filipino commuters to Monday 'walkathon'
MANILA, Philippines - The motorists and commuters were welcomed by a stressful traffic situation on Monday morning.
Because of the heavy traffic caused by road closures, rerouting schemes and lack of public utility vehicles, most Filipino commuters opted to go on foot to reach their destinations.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) closed various thoroughfares including both sides of Roxas Boulevard to ensure the safety and convenience of world leaders attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

While some endured the long walk to get to their offices, some opted to just go back to their homes.

Intense traffic thanks to #APEC2015 and to our government for thinking it would be best to hold it in a HIGHLY CONGESTED city.
