MANILA, Philippines - Eiffel tower has been a long symbol of Paris. And to celebrate the structure’s 125th anniversary, the famous monument had undergone a major make over.

According to AP, the 324-meter (1,063-foot) tower now has see-through glass floor panels on the first level. The four small viewing sections, which cost 30 million euro ($38 million), were unveiled to visitors Monday.

The first level, which is 57 meters (187 feet) high, guarantees a dramatic view from the top. New outward-curving safety barriers also allow better views over the city. It also has solar panels.

The renovation was done to make the experience of the tourists even more breathtaking. Paris’s Mayor Anne Hidalgo said the move to redesign the tower is proof that “Paris can re-invent the city without ruining the history.”

Because of the incredible transformation, tourists braved the terrifying heights and lined up for a priceless experience.
