MANILA, Philippines - A total lunar eclipse will be seen in the Philippines and other countries in Asia, the Americas and Australasia on October 8.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the lunar eclipse will be visible in the Philippines from 4:14 p.m. to 9:35 p.m..
The major phases of the eclipse, according to PAGASA
PAGASA reminded that lunar eclipses are safe to watch and that there is no need to use protective filters for the eyes when observing the event.
The moon will show a rusty red color known, thus, the "Blood Moon." Using a pair of binoculars would help magnify the view.
The eclipse on Wednesday is second in a series of Blood Moon eclipses this year. The first total lunar eclipse took place last April 15.
