Mabuhay! Google celebrates Phl Independence Day with 'bayanihan' doodle

MANILA, Philippines - Google joins the country's celebration of its 116th Independence Day with a doodle that pays tribute to the Filipinos' spirit of "bayanihan."

Visitors of Google.com.ph will see the special doodle showing groups of people practicing "bayanihan," the tradition of townsfolk helping neighbors to move their houses by carrying them using bamboos.

In modern times, the "bayanihan" has become a symbol of Filipinos' ability to come together for a common purpose or action.

Clicking the bayanihan-themed doodle will show Google search results related to the Philippine Independence Day.

This is not the first time that a Google doodle was created for this occasion. On the same day last year, Filipino netizens were greeted with an animated doodle that featured a man waving the Philippine flag.
