MANILA, Philippines - Will President Aquinio remain single? Will Janet Lim-Napoles walk free? One of the famous feng shui experts sees conflict, anger and backstabbing in politics this year as he reveals his predictions for newsmakers and various Chinese zodiac signs.
Master Hanz Cua, one of the youngest and most in demand feng shui experts today, said the luckiest animal sign in 2014 is the Sheep, which will have a strong attraction level and a better fortune compared to last year.
"This year, may paparating na love life at hahataw ang career [ng mga Year of the Sheep]," Cua said in an interview with philstar.com.
It will also be a romantic 2014 for those born in the Year of the Monkey, the second luckiest animal sign this year. Cua said these people, like Senator Grace Poe-Llamanzares, will also be "in demand" in the Year of the Wooden Horse.
The neophyte senator was one of the biggest newsmakers last year after topping the May 2013 elections.
"May mga fame and recognition, may mga pagsikat ng pangalan this 2014," Cua said.
If the Sheep and the Monkey signs will have a good year ahead, those who won't possibly have a better 2014 are those born in the Year of the Rat, like President Aquino. Cua said these people should be wary of attacks and criticisms.
"Year of the Rat is in direct conflict with the Year of the Horse," Cua said. "'Wag masyadong patulan ang mga problema sa politika dahil siya mismo, possible na hindi masyadong stable ang year niya."
But Cua said it will also be a love-filled year for the Rat sign, and single males like the President may meet a lot of women and have short-term relationships.
However, Cua said he doesn't see the marriage star on Aquino's chart.
"Mas okay talaga sa kanya na maging bachelor kaysa maging married guy," Cua said.
PNoy and Roxas in conflict with Binay?
Cua said the President might not share a good year with those born in the Year of the Horse, like Vice President Jejomar Binay, since the two signs are in conflict.
"Year of the Rat and Year of the Horse ay directly medyo magkalaban sila. So medyo hindi sila in good terms sa year na ito," Cua said.
Cua advised those with the Horse sign to stay in low profile and to be careful with what they say.
He said the possible relationship between Aquino and Binay might cause problems to the country.
"Ang politics kasi natin this year medyo magulo because of the energy of the President and Vice President," Cua said.
Also in slight conflict with the Horse are those with the Rooster sign, like Interior and Local Government Sec. Mar Roxas, who may have anger issues this year.
"Medyo may mga init ng ulo sila. Kailangan dito, kapag may nang-aaway, 'wag na masyadong patulan," Cua said. "Pagdating sa competition, hindi rin ganoon ka-istable, madaling bumagsak."
He said those with the Rooster sign should boost their spirituality and be careful with their friends. Their reputation might also get tainted.
The Binays
Compared to their father, Senator Nancy Binay will have a better year, since those born in the Year of the Ox like her will have energies that would bring good fortune and wealth, according to Cua.
He said those with the Ox sign, one of the luckiest in 2014, will have luck in career promotion and a smooth sailing 2014 as a whole.
"May lucky star ang mga Ox this year," said Cua.
However, he warned those with the Ox sign against traitors and that they might have a minor illness due to overfatigue.
Cua said those born in the Year of the Snake like Makati Mayor JunJun Binay will become irritable in the Year of the Horse. "Tuloy pa rin ang mga tsismis at issues sa kanila this year," he said.
The two children of the Vice President made the headlines last year, with Senator Binay receiving criticisms for joining the senatorial race despite not holding any prior political position. Her brother, on the other hand, went underfire after an incident with security guards of a Makati subdivision.
Napoles and the 'pork' senators
But perhaps, the biggest newsmaker of 2013 was businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the pork barrel scam. For people like her who were born in the Year of the Dragon, Cua predicts that 2014 will still be a not-so-lucky year.
The astrologer, however, also sees success luck for the Dragon since it is possible that Napoles will get acquitted from her alleged crimes.
"Meron silang mga taong tutulong sa kanila pero at the same time, maraming backstabbing at maraming taong maiinggit," Cua said.
Those born in the Year of the Rabbit like Senator Jinggoy Estrada should be watchful of their health, according to Cua. While they may have luck in terms of wealth this year, these people might have sadness or even depression.
Estrada is among those charged with plunder in connection with the pork barrel scam, along with Senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Ramon Revilla Jr.
Cua said those born in the Year of the Dog are good friends with those born in the Year of the Horse like Revilla, but they should watch out for possible betrayals.
"Magkaibigan silang matalik so may mga tutulong kay Horse. Ang problema, may mga tao ding magbabackstab kay Dog," Cua said.
Other signs
For those with the Boar sign like former Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, 2014 will be better than last year. Cua explained that the Boar was in direct conflict with the Dragon, which was the animal sign of 2013.
Despite a better luck, Cua said 2014 will still not be a good year for those with Boar sign to make noise.
Cua said the Boar should also be careful with backstabbing and gossips. Those born in the Year of the Tiger should also watch out for backstabbing even if some people will extend a helping hand.
