The odds are a staggering 13 million to one that you will pick the winning combination in the state lottery, but some people have all the luck.
Sharing the P89-million jackpot of the lotto 6/49 draw last Sunday were a 35-year-old woman manager from Parañaque and a player from Angeles City who picked the winning combination 5-8-12-16-17-25.
Conrado Zabella, assistant general manager for online lotto of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), said the winner from Parañaque bought her winning ticket at an outlet in Moonwalk Subdivision in Las Piñas. She picked the winning numbers from birthdates of members of her family.
She told PCSO officials she would spend part of her P44.5-million winnings on a house and lot.
The winner from Angeles has not yet shown up at the PCSO office.
The P89 million jackpot was the second biggest prize for the year. Last April a player from Quezon City hit the P98-million jackpot of the 6/42 game.
"Most of the winners hit the jackpot by picking combinations of birthdays, deaths and other significant numbers in their lives," said Zabella.
