MANILA, Philippines - Albert “AJ” Lim wore down top seed Wu Tung-lin of Taiwan and pulled off a 1-3 (ret.) victory to nail the China Junior Beijing tennis tournament crown in Beijing over the weekend

Seeded fourth in the tournament three rungs below a Grand Slam event, Lim ran away with the win after Wu, who beat him in a recent tournament in Hong Kong, was forced to quit after 30 minutes due to sprain.

The victory came on the heels of Lim’s conquest of the One Cainta tournament a couple of months ago where he beat several men’s players. Lim was coached by brother and Manila Councilor Numero Lim, himself a former top junior player.

“It’s a good thing I trained long and hard for this tournament that’s why I was able to wear him out,” said Lim, who turned 15 yesterday.
