MANILA, Philippines — Nasa 10 kumpanya ng vape products na gu­magawa, nagdi-distribute at nagbebenta ang nakapagparehistro sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), ani Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque.

Sa isang press briefing, ang sampu na accre­dited firms ng imported vape products ay nakatugon sa standards na itinakda ng Office for the Special Mandate on Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products, their Devices, and Novel Tobacco Products (OSMV).

Sa ilalim ng Republic Act 11900 (Vape Law) ang manufacturers at importers ng Heated Tobacco Product (HTP) consumables, HTP devices, vapor product refills, vapor product devices, at novel tobacco products ay kailangang nakarehistro upang makatiyak na nakatugon sa standards na itinakda ng gobyerno.

Kabilang sa compliance requirements ang paglalagay ng health warnings sa mga produkto.

Matatandaang noong Hunyo 5, 2024 nang iutos ang pagkakaroon ng certification at registration ng vape products at ang pagpapatupad ng mga pamantayan ng produkto at pagpaparehistro simula Enero 2025.

Kung walang Philippine Standard (PS) mark at Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) sticker ang mga imported products ay hindi maaring ibenta sa merkado.

“For the DTI side, what we want to happen is for them to comply and for them to register with us, just to make sure that these vape products, the standards are being met,” ani Roque.
