MANILA, Philippines — A bomb threat disrupted the operations of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in Mandaluyong City on Monday.

Personnel of the OVP were evacuated to a secure area at Robinsons Cybergate Plaza.

In a statement yesterday, the OVP said one of its employees received a text message about a bomb threat.

The Mandaluyong police immediately searched the OVP building, but found no bomb.

The OVP resumed operations at 4 p.m.

Police said the incident is still being investigated.

The OVP warned the public that making a bomb threat is punishable under Presidential Decree 1727, the Anti-Bomb Joke Law.

“Bomb threats are a serious matter concerning public security,” the OVP said.
