MANILA, Philippines — Complaints for murder and frustrated murder were filed against a policeman who figured in a road rage shooting on Thursday night.

Maj. Dondon Llapitan, Quezon City Police District criminal investigation and detection unit chief, said the cases were filed against EM/Sgt. Randy Tuzon before the city prosecutor’s office, which conducted inquest proceedings yesterday.

Tuzon, who is assigned at the Batasan police station 6, shot to death van driver Ronnie Borromeo during a traffic altercation along Tandang Sora Avenue in Barangay Old Balara.

During their confrontation, Borromeo allegedly hit Tuzon with a steel pipe. The policeman allegedly retaliated by shooting him with a handgun.

Llapitan reminded police officers to always exercise maximum tolerance and use their firearms only when necessary.
