P1.03 billion illegal drugs seized in Cavite, Mindoro
MANILA, Philippines — Illegal drugs with an estimated combined value of P1.03 billion were seized in separate anti-narcotics operations in Oriental Mindoro and Cavite yesterday.
Agents of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group intercepted a sedan loaded with 120 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P816 million in Barangay San Antonio, Calapan City.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, identified only as Christopher.
Meanwhile, shabu and party drug Ecstasy tablets worth P217.64 million were seized from a Chinese in Bacoor, Cavite.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chief Isagani Nerez said the suspect, identified as Li was collared after he agreed to sell a kilo of shabu to a PDEA undercover agent.
Seized from the suspect were another 31 kilos of shabu and 35 Ecstasy tablets.
