3 dead in Tondo fire

MANILA, Philippines — Three people, including an elderly couple, died after getting trapped in a fire that struck their house in Tondo, Manila yesterday.

The remains of the couple and a 45-year-old man were found on the second floor of the house, the Manila Fire District said.

Four people were injured in the incident.

Thirteen firetrucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection and 20 others from volunteer groups responded.

In San Juan, a man died and 17 families were left homeless after a fire hit Barangay Little Baguio yesterday.
