MANILA, Philippines — Barangay health centers in Parañaque will get an upgrade following the city government’s partnership with a tech company.
Mayor Eric Olivarez and 1Life Inc., represented by vice president for community health care partnerships Kenneth So, signed a memorandum of agreement on March 6.
The company will provide basic diagnostic services for blood chemistry, ultrasound, X-ray, fetal Doppler for pregnant patients, respiratory rate, urinalysis and checking of blood sugar, uric acid, cholesterol and hemoglobin levels, according to the local government.
The health center in Barangay Sto. Niño will serve as the pilot-testing area of the newly acquired services.
All 20 barangay health centers in Parañaque will enjoy 1LifeInc.’s technologies for one year, benefitting the city’s estimated 500,000 residents.
JR Francisco, 1Life’s vice president for proactive health care partnerships, said the company wants to address the issue of indigent patients unable to get quality health care service until four days have passed.
“Our system is designed to cut that four-day problem into under an hour,” Francisco said.
