PNR’s Naga-Legazpi route resumes February

MANILA, Philippines — Train operations between the cities of Naga in Camarines Sur and Legazpi in Albay will resume on Feb. 26, according to the Philippine National Railways.
The PNR, operated by the government, made the announcement in a post on social media on Friday.
Railway officials said the first train will depart Legazpi at 4:49 a.m. The return trip will leave Naga at 5:30 p.m.
The train will stop in stations in Naga, Pili and Iriga in Camarines Sur as well as Polangui, Ligao, Travesia, Daraga and Legazpi in Albay.
Fare rates will range between P15 and P155, and discounts will be given to senior citizens and students, the PNR said.
The PNR first reopened the Naga-Legazpi route in December 2023 after the operation was suspended in 2017 due to lack of trains.
The service was stopped again in October 2024 after Severe Tropical Storm Kristine battered Luzon, destroying public utilities, including rail tracks and train facilities.
At present, the PNR is serving routes between Lucena in Quezon and Calamba in Laguna as well as Naga and Sipocot in Camarines Sur.
