Cannabis plantations in Benguet go up in smoke

BAGUIO CITY — Authorities destroyed two cannabis plantations in Barangay Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet on Monday, February 3, in a crackdown against illegal drug cultivation.

Authorities in Kibungan, Benguet on Monday destroyed over 10,000 fully grown marijuana plants worth Php 2.04 million during a raid on two cannabis plantations in Barangay Badeo. The operation involved local police, PDEA agents, and intelligence operatives from the Cordillera police.

In Luna town, Apayao, a 26-year-old alleged drug personality, identified only as a "Street Level Individual," was arrested after a joint operation by police, PDEA, and other enforcement agencies.

Authorities seized three sachets of shabu, weighing approximately 0.093 grams, valued at P632.40, from his residence.
