ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — An official of the Land Registration Authority (LRA) was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in this city yesterday morning.

Jaybee Robert Baguinda, 57, chief of the LRA’s Registry of Deeds, was about to enter a compound housing his office when he was killed at past 10 a.m., according to Lt. Col. Paul Andrew Cortes, spokesman for the Zamboanga City police.

Investigation showed the victim was in a pick-up truck when the assailant approached and shot him several times.
