Elderly man dies, 4 hurt in Muntinlupa fire

MANILA, Philippines — A 75-year-old man died and four others were injured when a fire razed houses in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa yesterday.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the blaze broke out at Marquez Compound, Putatan Itaas, Summitville at 10:20 a.m.

The fire reached second alarm before it was extinguished at 11:09 a.m.

Fifteen families were displaced by the fire.

Twenty-three fire trucks responded. Damage to property was placed at P750,000.

Arson probers said they have yet to determine what caused the fire.
