COTABATO CITY — A school teacher died from injuries after her motorcycle collided head-on with another along a highway in Barangay Poblacion, Makilala, Cotabato, on Thursday morning, January 30.

Police investigators told reporters that around noon Thursday, Maryell Ubana Decano and her husband, Edmar, were riding together on their way to the Makilala Institute of Science and Technology when the accident occurred, resulting in her death.

Their motorcycle collided with one driven by Richard Damali Emban, who was traveling in the opposite direction, according to officials from the Makilala Municipal Police Station and local responders.

The 33-year-old Decano, who went unconscious after she fell on the concrete pavement as the two motorcycles crashed, died in a hospital where policemen and emergency responders brought her for treatment.

Decano’s husband and Emban sustained contusions and bruises in different parts of their bodies as a result of the highway mishap.
