Marcos names new PCO undersecretary
MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed Jorjette Barrenechea Aquino as undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
Aquino replaced Cherbett Karen Maralit.
Marcos signed Aquino’s appointment paper on Jan. 23, according to a document sent to Palace reporters.
Prior to her new post, Aquino served as assistant secretary for rails at the Department of Transportation.
According to PCO Secretary Cesar Chavez, Aquino will focus on the rationalization plan and digitalization of PTV-4 as well as of other state media agencies, including Radyo Pilipinas, News and Information Bureau, which oversees the Philippine News Agency, Philippine Information Agency, Bureau of Communications Services and IBC-13.
Aquino finished Bachelor of Science in Math, major in Actuarial Science and Statistics at the De La Salle University.
She has a master’s degree in public administration from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
