ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Four people, including a minor, were arrested for stealing 30 mobile phones during the Dinagyang Festival celebration here on Sunday.

Capt. Ryan Christ Inot, Iloilo City City Drug Enforcement Unit and concurrent Police Station 4 chief, identified three of the suspects by the aliases Maricar, JP and Kevin. The fourth suspect, a minor, was a female companion of Kevin.

Inot believes the four are part of a gang that operates during large gatherings.

“We are looking for four other (gang) members, but it’s highly possible that they already left for Manila,” Inot said.

At least 30 cell phones were recovered from the suspects, 18 of which were returned to the owners.

Police charged Maricar and JP for theft while Kevin and the minor were charged for violation of the anti-fencing law and the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
