MANILA, Philippines — Aligned with President Marcos’ directive to ensure public health, smuggled vape products worth over P34 million have been destroyed by the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Up to 159,830 vape products were destroyed in Cavite recently, according to the BOC at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The shipments violated the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act as well as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

“This condemnation underscores our commitment to protect public health and ensure compliance with Philippine laws,” Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio said.

The destruction of the smuggled vapes was carried out in coordination with the BOC- Auction and Cargo Disposal Division, Enforcement and Security Service as well as Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service.
