COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized P20.4 million worth of shabu from a 47-year-old male trafficker entrapped in Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte on Saturday, January 25.

Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc confirmed on Sunday, January 26, that they are now in custody of the suspect, a resident of Santa Catalina in Zamboanga City.

The suspect voluntarily yielded when he sensed that he had sold three kilos of shabu, worth P20.4 million, to PDEA-9 agents and operatives of different units under the Police Regional Office-9 during an entrapment operation along a stretch of the busy Osmeña Street in Barangay Central in Dipolog City.

Gadaoni-Tosoc said they are grateful to officials of the Dipolog City Police Office and local executives for helping them carry out the operation that led to the arrest of the suspect, long under surveillance for his large-scale trafficking of shabu in Zamboanga City and in Region 9's neighboring Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur provinces.

Gadaoni-Tosoc said they are to use the P20.4 million worth of shabu seized from the suspect as evidence in prosecuting him for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
