RKF Iloilo now 3-0 in Sinulog Cup

CEBU, Philippines — The undefeated RKF Iloilo stretched its hot streak to three games in a row with a 107-79 blowout of Team Frasco-Liloan in the Sinulog Cup 2025 Basketball Tournament on Friday night, January 24, at the Cebu Coliseum.

Wilmer Dalumpines netted 11 points, one rebound, and two assists while Joshua Maquiling dished out a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Ilonggo ballers, who detonated a devastating 35-11 bomb in the second quarter to turn the once close game into a lopsided contest with an imposing 58-34 bulge at halftime.

Cedrick Manzano and Marvin Cuerbo added 10 points each for RKF, whose biggest lead stood at 31 points, 92-61, early in the fourth period.

In the other game, Welec Trucking Services x AMC ended its elimination round campaign with a 3-1 record after fending off the Cebu City selection, 79-77.

Reinhard Jumamoy showed the way for Welec with 17 points, two rebounds, and seven assists.

Gabriel Cometa finished with 14 points, four rebounds, and five assists while Kenneth Brillo chipped in with 12 markers and five boards for Welec, which lost a 74-63 advantage midway in the final quarter but played cool under pressure in the dying seconds to escape with a two-point victory.

The six-day cage wars enters its championship round today (Sunday, January 26) but the finalists will be determined by the outcome of the RKF-University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters matchup which was still being played as of this writing last night. — (FREEMAN)
