MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies and the northeast monsoon, or amihan, are expected to bring cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers over parts of Luzon and Mindanao in the next 24 hours, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

PAGASA said the monsoon continued to affect the northern and central parts of Luzon and would bring cooler temperatures in the region.

In contrast, the easterlies are still influencing a wider portion of the country, including the eastern and southern parts of Mindanao.

The weather system is expected to bring thunderstorms and heavy rain, which may result in flooding and landslides, particularly in Caraga, Davao region and Soccsksargen.

In Luzon, the Cordilleras, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon as well as Metro Manila will experience isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms with light rains.
