CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Ten New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas have surrendered to authorities in Oriental Mindoro, police reported yesterday.

The surrender brought to 133 the total number of insurgents who have returned to the fold of the law in the province.

The surrenderees turned over a grenade to officials of the 403rd Battalion of the Regional Mobile Force 4B based in Mansalay town.

During a ceremony, Brig. Gen. Roger Quesada, Mimaropa police director, urged remaining communist rebels to lay down their arms and and be reintegrated to communities.
