Tondo fire leaves 300 families homeless

MANILA, Philippines — Around 300 families lost their homes when a fire razed shanties in Tondo, Manila yesterday.

Reports said that 30 houses were razed by the fire.

Personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) encountered difficulty in extinguishing the blaze due to narrow pathways.

Two boats were also deployed to help put out the fire, the BFP said.

In November 2024, a massive fire struck Isla Puting Bato in Tondo, which displaced 2,114 families or 6,957 people.
