Truck falls off Benguet cliff; 3 dead

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Three people died while another was injured when their pick-up truck fell into a ravine in Itogon, Benguet on Monday.

Truck driver Amayag Oplas, 29, died at the scene of the accident that occurred at around 6:45 a.m. in Barangay Ucab.

Oplas’ passengers Ruvelyn Agapinan, 27, and Charles Oplas, 21, died while being treated in a hospital. Another passenger, Luisito David Bacoco, 14, survived.

Reports said the victims were traveling along the Baguio-Ucab Road when the driver hit a concrete barrier and lost control of the wheel in Sitio Camanggaan. The truck then hurtled toward the cliff.
