MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.5 earthquake jolted Batangas and Metro Manila last night, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
State seismologists said the temblor occurred at 6:43 p.m. yesterday. The epicenter was located 26 kilometers north of Calatagan, Batangas.
Phivolcs said intensity 3 was felt in Quezon City, Makati and Taguig.
