MANILA, Philippines — A senior citizen from Bicol region has claimed half of the P25.3-million jackpot for the Lotto 6/42 draw on Dec. 31, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) revealed.
The elderly was accompanied by her daughter when she appeared at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City on Jan. 10. She presented the ticket, bearing the winning combination 27-26-09-41-19-20, which she bought at a lotto outlet in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
She shares the lotto prize with another bettor who bought a ticket in Lucena City.
Lotto prizes above P10,000 are subject to a 20-percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.
Winners have one year from draw date to claim their prizes. Unclaimed winnings will be forfeited and added to the PCSO Charity Fund, supporting the organization’s various charitable programs.
