CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija, Philippines — Police arrested four people, believed to be engaged in online scam, in Talavera town yesterday.

The Talavera town police, in its report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Ferdinand Germino, said the suspects were caught in possession of P P809,500 worth of motorcycle parts they ordered online from a shop.

The shop owner, according to the report, sought police assistance after sending the items through a courier and finding that the proof of payment, a bank transaction slip, was faked.

A follow-up operation led to the arrest of a 22-year-old female and three other males in Barangay Bugnay. Police are also looking for another suspect, said to be the one who transacted with the shop owner.

Charges of syndicated estafa are being prepared against the suspects.
