Maguindanao attack leaves 2 dead

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A man and his wife were killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in Datu Paglas, Maguindanao del Sur yesterday.

Deru Dimaguil and his wife Suraida died at the scene of the attack that occurred in Barangay Damalusay, according to Brig. Gen. Juan Macapaz, Bangsamoro police director.

The victims were on a tricycle with their eight-year-old daughter when they were killed by the assailants, who were believed to be waiting for them.

The assailants did not harm the girl.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
