CDO Army chief assumes post

MANILA, Philippines — The chief of the Army’s 4th Infantry Division (4ID) based at Camp Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro City has assumed the post.

Brig. Gen. Consolito Yecla replaced Maj. Gen. Jose Maria Cuerpo II following a ceremony led by Army commanding general Lt. Gen. Roy Galido on Friday.

Lt. Col. Francisco Garello Jr., public affairs office chief of the 4ID, said that before he was named commander, Yecla was assistant division commander of the 4ID.

Yecla is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1992. He started his career in the same Army division from 1992 to 2001.

Yecla thanked Galido for trusting him and committed to give the people of Caraga and Northern Mindanao the kind of service they deserve.
