Malabon launches contest for ‘cleanest’ barangay
MANILA, Philippines — The Malabon government yesterday launched the “Search for the Cleanest Barangay 2025” to promote cleanliness and environmental stewardship in the city’s 21 barangays.
Led by the local environment and natural resources office, the initiative aims to foster collaboration among the local government, barangays and residents.
The participating barangays are encouraged to implement best practices in waste management, clearing operations and maintaining a clean environment.
The competition will start in March, with inspections and evaluations scheduled from April to November. Winners will be announced in December.
Winning barangays will receive P1 million in cash for first place, P500,000 for second, P250,000 for third, P150,000 for fourth and P50,000 for fifth.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said the competition aligns with the local government’s goal of making Malabon cleaner, greener and more livable for everyone.
