SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ , Phiippines – The Philippine Carabao Center at Central Luzon State University (PCC at CLSU) is promoting carabao leather products branded as Cara Cuero.
Ericson dela Cruz, PCC at CLSU chief, said the center produces leather items such as jackets, belts, slippers, sandals, boots, top-sider shoes, bags, coin purses, wallets and notebooks made from carabao hide.
“The beauty of the Cara Cuero is that it is pure carabao hide. We can say the product is of good quality,” Dela Cruz said.
Cara Cuero products come in classic and modern colors, prints, textures, finish and thickness that are designed to suit various customers’ preferences, he said.
Despite the products’ high quality, the PCC at CLSU ensures that the items are sold at reasonable prices, providing a more affordable option compared to expensive branded leather products available in the market.
Cara Cuero products are crafted in collaboration with stakeholders in the tanning industry based in Meycauayan in Bulacan and Cuyapo in Nueva Ecija, in support of local artisans.
The items may be availed of at the PCC at CLSU in this city or through the Cara Cuero Facebook page.
