General Santos City beauty salon owner shot dead
COTABATO CITY — A gunman shot and killed the owner of a popular beauty salon along a busy thoroughfare in General Santos City on Wednesday night, January 15.
Officials of the Police Regional Office-12 told reporters on Thursday morning, January 16, that Renante Tampus, owner of the Renatanara Salon along Daproza Avenue in General Santos City, died instantly from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in the attack.
The salon is near a police station and the city hall of General Santos, one of four cities in Region 12 that also has four provinces, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato and Sarangani.
The assailant of Tampus, armed with a pistol and clad in a green sweatshirt and denim pants and wearing a facemask, barged into the Renatanara Salon, shot him repeatedly and hurriedly fled amid the commotion triggered by the gunshots that reverberated through the establishment.
Brig. Gen. Arnold Ardiente, director of PRO-12, told reporters that investigators in the General Santos City Police Office and barangay officials are trying to identify the killer of Tampus for prosecution.
