Marbil on term extension: No comment

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil was mum on reports that President Marcos might extend his tenure until June.

Marbil refused to comment when asked through Viber about the statement of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla that there are indications that his tour of duty would be extended for five more months.

Marbil will reach the mandatory retirement age of 56 on Feb. 7. He is the third PNP chief under the Marcos administration.
